Today Arsenal can announce the signing of young and very talented defensive midfielder Vincent Kompany from rivals Manchester City. The young Belgian is set to join up with his new team mates in a few days time. The deal to bring Kompany to the Emirates will see Frenchman William Gallas leave the club. Arsenal are upset to be losing Gallas but are delighted to be getting somebody as talented as Kompany in return.

Georgie Thompson: So Vincent whats it like in the big city having been living in a relatively smaller area called Manchester?
Vincent Kompany: Its different but i am enjoying it and look forward to a long stay here
GT: Why Arsenal when there are so many other teams?
VK: They spoke to City and were very interested so it must be a good move if they were desperate to get me.
GT: Do you think you can help them off the bottom of the table as they seem to be having a lot of bad luck in matches lately?
VK: Yes i can help but the guys that are there are amazing players i’m just adding something a bit different.
GT: Your very confident aren’t you to say you haven’t played for them yet?
VK: Confidence comes naturally as a footballer you need to be confident or youll never be a great player.
GT: Its nice to see such a confident young man, do you plan on staying at Arsenal long term or just using them as a stepping stone?
VK: Yes i am here for the long term i don’t believe a big club should be a stepping stone i hope to stay with this club the rest of my career.
GT: Right thank you Vincent hope to speak again
VK: Cheers
